The Mental Health, Psychiatry and Psychotherapy section presents a multidisciplinary programme addressing contemporary research, clinical practice and service development across the life course.
The plenary programme features two distinguished international speakers. Prof. Danuta Wasserman (Sweden) will examine advances in suicide research and prevention within the broader context of population mental health. Prof. Douglas Ziedonis (USA) will address emerging challenges in addictive disorders, spanning early identification and assessment, evidence-based treatment and prevention.
Across four parallel sessions, presentations will explore complementary areas of mental health research and practice. These include quantitative and qualitative studies of perinatal depression, anxiety and childbirth-related post-traumatic stress symptoms; the development and pilot evaluation of instruments for screening and monitoring child development and mental health, together with research on personality traits in adolescents; and the implementation of internet-delivered cognitive behavioural therapy for depression and anxiety among young people. Further multidisciplinary contributions will examine biological markers associated with stress and functional disorders in primary care, teacher well-being, the efficiency of psychiatric triage, and adverse or unwanted effects of psychotherapy.
Together, the programme integrates biological, psychological, clinical, digital and health-services perspectives, highlighting their relevance to prevention, assessment, person-centred care and the continued development of responsive mental health services.
