One Patient, Multiple Perspectives: Multidisciplinary Clinical Case Challenge
9 April
Auditorium 3
16 Dzirciema iela, Rīga
This interactive session will bring complex and challenging clinical cases into a multidisciplinary discussion. Selected case reports submitted as abstracts will be presented by their authors and discussed by a panel of specialists representing different medical disciplines.
Rather than focusing on a single specialty, the panel will examine each patient from different perspectives—exploring diagnostic dilemmas, therapeutic decisions, unexpected findings and outcomes, and alternative approaches to patient management. Together with the case author, the multidisciplinary team will discuss how different expertise can help understand and solve complex clinical problems while keeping the patient at the center of decision-making.
We particularly welcome case reports involving:
- Complex clinical situations requiring input from several specialties
- Diagnostic dilemmas or unexpected diagnoses
- Unexpected clinical courses or outcomes
- Innovative or non-traditional treatment approaches
- Rare presentations, complications, or outcomes
- Difficult clinical decisions where several management strategies could be considered
- Cases where the diagnosis or treatment strategy changed after additional specialist input
- Challenging cases where conventional diagnostic or therapeutic pathways were insufficient
Learning objective:
To demonstrate how a multidisciplinary, patient-centered approach can provide different perspectives on complex clinical problems and contribute to diagnostic reasoning, treatment decisions, and patient management.
